Simple Things

Thought I would share a few simple things that have been making me happy as of late. Some old, some new.

New shoes! Thanks to Grandma D for sending me birthday money so I could buy these adorable shoes!

A Christmas present from Pete's grandparents. It has given me renewed motivation to cook!

A birthday present from my sis--that crafty one--it helped me organize my mess of earrings! (most of which she made)

My mom sure knows the way to my heart! (A birthday present)

A Christmas present, again from my crafty sister, they keep my feet nice and warm.

Babysitting these kids last night. And they liked me this time. So fun!

The car I drive to work has looked a little sad since I lost two hub caps on one side. So Pete got me new ones for my birthday! YAY!

Somehow FatBooth never gets old. I laugh everytime.

And this kid, of course. He makes me the most happy.

Christmas & more

Pete and I had a wonderful holiday season. We didn't do a very good job of taking photos but we sure enjoyed ourselves! Here are a few iPhone pics that I finally got off Pete's phone. For the sake of documentation.

Our anniversary in Salt Lake, at Temple Square.

Christmas Day at my parents' house wearing our new clothes we received from his parents early that day.

Hiking to the tree! This is where Pete proposed in September 2010. We hiked there every year at Christmas time while we were dating.

Not My Best Artistic Work

I love making gingerbread houses. Even if the candy tastes gross, they are expensive and we can't find the time to do them until after Christmas is over. I still required that Pete sit down and make one with me.

I have to say this year's house was not my best work. But we had fun none-the-less. And finished with having only one argument. . . or maybe two.

Did I Miss Something?

Oh yeah...Thanksgiving!

Pete and I got to spend Thanksgiving with both of our families. On Thursday morning we went over to my parents' house and helped to decorate, cook and set up. We then had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at 1:00.

We got to hang out with my extended family for a bit with all the crazy kids running around. Pete played some football in the backyard and my dad pulled out his homemade rocket launcher and let all the kids make their own rockets and then launch them. Fun stuff!

At 4:00 we left my parents' house for St. George where Pete's extended family was celebrating Thanksgiving. We got to his aunt Alyce's house just in time to help plan the next day's events and I think we even got a second round of pies.

Friday morning I went black Friday shopping with Jessica (sis-in-law), Michelle (mother-in-law) and Boofie (Pete's grandma). It was my first time ever going black Friday shopping and it was fun! We shopped from about 4:30-9:30 and even though I only bought a pair of earrings it was so fun to be out in the heat of it all. :)

We spent the rest of the weekend relaxing in St. George. We did some hiking in snow canyon--beautiful! And perfect for an after-thanksgiving activity after eating so much. We also saw Moneyball, which Pete LOVED! I liked it too. Pete just really liked it.

We had too much fun I didn't even take any pictures. Although...I know at least one person's iPhone snapped a picture of us at some point. I will have to see if I can find it.
