During the month of February we were in and out of town. It felt a bit weird to be out of our regular routine but it made the cold month go by faster!
At the beginning of the month we made a road trip to Salida, CO for Peter's cousin's baptism. The roads were a bit scary and there were storm warnings that weekend so we debated going or not. But in the end we wanted to be there to support Zeke and so we made the trek and were so happy we did! We had a wonderful weekend getaway and some great time with the Sundwall side of the family!
As we got closer to Salida we learned that the last mountain pass to it was closing and we wouldn't make it to Salida that night. So we stopped in Gunnison and stayed at a really nice motel until we could continue our journey the following morning. Thanks to Pete's parents for putting us up for the night! Afton was happy to be out of the car and able to crawl around on the bed (above).
Afton loved cousin Eli! And Eli warmed up to her after a bit too!

Taking pictures of herself to keep her busy during the long car ride.
She thought she was so cool wearing these sun glasses!
We celebrated the Olympic opening ceremonies with some patriotic sugar cookies and my dad Slingboxed the entire olympics to us so we could see them even though we do not own a TV. Best dad ever!
In mid-February we stayed with a family of 5 girls in Alpine while their parents went on a cruise. They devoured Afton and she soaked up every minute of the never-ending attention. We had a fun time with this family and their sweet girls. Pete is now saying that if we only had girls, he would be totally fine with that!
We finished tending the Allens on Sunday evening and began tending Peter's little brother and sister the following Friday. Poor Afton was a bit thrown off but she took it all in stride!
Here she is playing and looking like a teenager! Mimi bought Afton those new little sneakers for her birthday and they just look too cute on her tiny feet!
While we were at the Sundwalls, Afton came down with a fever and a runny nose for a couple of days. But slept it off pretty quick. I enjoyed the zonked-out cuddles!
Sleeping in yet another playpen like a champ!
All in all it was a great month! We celebrated Afton's birthday (more to come) and enjoyed a little out of the ordinary activities.

Fun month! Can't believe she's already a year old.
