The Miss Turns One!

We celebrated Afton's birthday with our families at Pete and Michelle's house. We were staying in Alpine with the Allen family that week so Michelle graciously hosted even though she came down with something and was feeling very sick!

We played Pin the Curl on the Birthday Girl and a matching game to see who could match up photos of Afton from each month of her life in the correct order. Pete and I had a fun time picking out some of our favorite photos to use for this game but then even we weren't sure what order they went in. So I made a key and stuck to it. It was a tough game! The winner ending up getting 6 of the 12 pictures in the correct order!

We had chocolate cupcakes and ice cream. Afton enjoyed her first taste of cake though she kind of lost interested when everyone else lost interest in watching her. Typical :). She was pretty tired and had a long day so it was tough to get any good pictures.

On the Saturday before her party, I made party hats with the Allen girls and had fun doing that. A few of the kids wore them and it was pretty cute. Of course, Afton wanted nothing to do with her so we tried to snap a quick picture and then we took it off.

At the party we had Pete, Michelle, Jeff, Olivia, Zach (Jessica had to perform in Les Mis that night), Boofie, Grandpa, Rita (Bret had an important business meeting), Katie, Emma, Ellie, Brigham, Jed, Maren Jane, Tess, Amy, Ben, Colin, & Jennsen and the 4 oldest Allen girls. The kids enjoyed playing in the basement most of the time. Afton was spoiled with toys, clothes, and some dishes. We feel lucky and blessed to have such loving and supportive families!
