Noteworthy

A few noteworthy things I want to mention about Afton that have occurred in the last week:

-Last Saturday my mom was holding Afton and Pete got close to her face and was smiling and talking to her (Afton, not my mom). My mom shouted, "She's smiling at you!" I was across the room so I just said, "Really?" thinking she would have stopped before I could get there to see it. But my mom said, "Yes, come here!" And so I ran over and sure enough she was looking Pete right in the eye and giving him a big smile!! This girl smiles a lot but it's usually when her eyes are closed or wandering around. So when she smiled at Pete it was a noticeable difference. She hasn't done it since although I have tried to coax it out of her. I'm afraid that she saves those things for daddy though.

-Afton is a grunter. She is very vocal and makes noise a lot. Recently she has started waking up nearly every hour during the night and will grunt to put herself back to sleep. Which can be a bit annoying when you are sleeping in the same room. So for a couple of nights, instead of letting her go back to sleep on her own, Pete and I would just get up and rock her back to sleep rather than listen to her grunt herself back to sleep for 15-20 minutes. This got a bit exhausting and so we decided it was time that Afton start sleeping in her own room. I will admit I haven't gotten much more sleep than when she was sleeping in our room because I get up to check that she is still breathing frequently, but I get a little less worried each night so we are on the upswing. :)

-I started back at dance this week and so Afton has started being babysat by her two wonderful grandmas! She did well this week and will hopefully continue to do so. It was a little hard to be away from her but I did surprisingly well. I think it's because I know she is being well taken care if while I am away!

-Afton used her bathtub for the first time this week. Previously she has been receiving baths with a wash cloth instead of being submerged in a tub. She still doesn't love getting bathed but she is such a good baby, she just kind of whimpers until it is over with.

This picture is bad quality but I love that I caught that face! And I love when she crosses her legs like this!

I put these socks on her for the first time this week and I swear they made her look so much older!

-Afton is getting a little less scrawny and more chubby! Love that. Here is proof:
Look at those cheeks!

And rolls!!

**One day I may go back to writing about more of what is going on in our lives but for now everything seems to revolve around this girl--Nothing else compares! So bear with me.
