Christmas Morning

This year Afton was really old enough to grasp on to the concept of Santa Clause and Christmas. However, she really didn't quite understand what was going to happen since she didn't remember last year and didn't have much to base things on. We should of had her watch a movie where Santa comes because she kept asking if he was scary, and telling us that she didn't want to see him. But on Christmas morning Santa left a trail of chocolate for her to follow so she was willing to see what it led to!
Santa left a little Afton-sized kitchen!
Baby Peter gave Afton some awesome slippers and Afton gave Peter some fun balls to chew on and play with!

We were able to spend Christmas eve and Christmas with both of our families and it was so wonderful. We are grateful to be near family and have so many people we love being with.

Most of all we are grateful for the birth of our Savior! We were able to spend much of the month talking to Afton about the birth of Jesus Christ and it was so special to see her love of the story of simple circumstances for a little baby who would be the Savior of the World.

Afton LOVES music and really picked up on the Christmas songs during the month of December. Even though it is a short time we hear them, she learned words to dozens of them. Some of her favorites included Jingle Bells, Twelve Days of Christmas, I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas, The Chipmunk song, and The Nativity Song (primary song).

Having a baby boy around Christmas time really made me reflect on the weight that Mary must have carried to raise the Son of God. What a special person she must have been and what an incredible thing to be the mother of Baby Jesus--The Light of the World.
