We had a wonderful celebration for Boofie and Grandpa's 50th wedding anniversary during the day. Then on our way home we stopped at the dollar store to get some party supplies so we could party the rest of the night.
Afton had a pretty high fever and a bad cough leading up to this day and was feeling very crummy so we thought we wouldn't stay at the celebration for long. But when we got there she perked up and was a new person! On our way out the door Afton reminded us that she needed her microphone so she could sing the song she had been practicing for this occasion. I thought for sure she wouldn't want to perform since she had a raspy voice but when the grandkid presentations were ready to begin she wanted to go first! She sang "I Know My Savior Loves Me" so sweetly and Pete accompanied her on the piano. It was hard to hear her for a lot of it but I was so proud of our little two-year-old getting up there and performing in front of everyone! She is a keeper!
She sat through all the rest of the performances and ate up every minute!
After, she ran around with Clara having the time of her life.
She came home and crashed for a little bit and then was ready to ring in the new year. We had a dance party and threw confetti all over at 8:00pm and then called it a night. Perfect New Year's in my opinion! For the record, Baby Peter was there for all this as well; mostly smiley and happy. He just wasn't as much of an Active Participant in the performing, playing, & partying :)
